Big announcement last month, the legends of Ajax playing the legends of Liverpool at Anfield stadium. The big and legendary stadium has become a household name in today’s football. Weeks before the kickoff tickets were sold out, obviously every Liverpool supporter wanted to see their heroes and legends who have given them great moments and memories for life in this wonderful stadium.
It was a privilege to play again at Anfield. I did it before while playing for Man City in the Premier League, and it’s something special. The electric atmosphere when the crowd sings, how they’re involved in the game and of course the “you never walk alone” before the game. It was something else. It even came to a point that I was curious to hear the sound when Liverpool scores.
I also enjoyed being with my old teammates and the younger players from Ajax; it was a nice mix of old and older players who blended easily with each other. It’s funny to see how some have changed in a lot of things, but when we get in the dressing room you see the same things as 25 years ago, amazing 
. Being able to score at Anfield was the cherry on the cake 
. I loved every bit of this trip, it was well organized by Liverpool, credits for that. The players were very kind and friendly. It all really brought me back to my playing days and I enjoyed the nostalgic weekend. I wish I had invited some friends around, but that will be for the next time. Hopefully, we’ll be playing more of these games, let’s do this!
